These are Georgia Anne Muldrow's "Early" recordings. She wrote, produced and recorded this lean, ten track album entirely by herself, but the sound of its backdrop and the maturity of the themes that accompany it showcase an intimate knowledge of rhythm and syncopation well beyond her years. Seventeen years young with an old soul, Georgia managed to blend the composing acumen of Roy Ayers and J Dilla with the vocal stylings of Billie Holiday and Lauryn Hill. The results are both hot and cool, bitter and sweet, inside the lines and outside the box.

While not as experimental as her later releases, these early recordings add another piece to the puzzle, further displaying the broad scope of her gift. Most of what you are about to hear will seem like it was recorded in recent years... allow yourself to marvel at the fact that it was not.

Georgia is also known well for an abstract production and writing style that breaks from normal song structure as can be seen on most of her previous releases. On Early she gives Animatedcartunes a beautiful collection of her first recordings (pre-Worthnothings) that were less avante-garde but still very soulful and very much a style defying comparison.
