Blacksmith Music is searching for the best up-and-coming music producers through a remix contest for Idle Warship’s latest single, “System Addict” featuring Jean Grae & Jay Knocka. Producers of all genres are invited to submit their best work for consideration to win an opportunity to have their remix offered as an exclusive bonus track with the release of Idle Warship’s new album Habits of the Heart, coming later this year.

Between July 18- August 19, 2011 users should download the System Addict Acapella and put their best original composition behind it to recreate the track with their own sound. All production should be your own original work that you can legally license and receive royalties for.

Idle Warship is a group consisting of Talib Kweli and Res. The group’s sound is a departure from the style of hip-hop and R&B that most associate with these artists. The best submissions will be those that take producers outside of their comfort zones and embody a truly original sound.
